Become a Conservation Partner
Partner agreement
If you accept animals from the PGRC, we ask that you abide by our partner agreement, this is to assure that the precious resource that our fish represent are utilized to the benefit of the species they belong to.
• Our fish are intended to preserve and expand the captive breeding populations, and so we cannot provide fish which are only intended for display. Partners must agree to attempt breeding these animals to the best of their ability.
• Many of the Parosphromenus species can interbreed, and any hybridization of distinct populations undermines the goal of preserving the genetic uniqueness of each population. Partners must agree to keep PGRC animals in species (and local population) specific tanks.
• Keeping accurate track of the captive populations is critical to the conservation efforts they're involved in. Partners must agree to participate in the Parosphromenus Project‘s bi-annual census.
